Forest Bathing: The meditative practice of full emersion in the natural environment
Join Dena and Stephany as we walk with you through the woods and invite you on a journey of restoration, exploration, and deep connection with the magic, wisdom and healing of the natural world.
During each walk, you will learn simple and accessible practices that help you become fully present and engage with the natural elements through all five senses. We will explore how to cultivate a respectful relationship with nature and how to build a meaningful connection with elements of the natural world so they become supportive spiritual allies.
Stepping into the forest does more than offer a quiet escape, it invites your nervous system to exhale. Ancient and current traditions know that time in nature lowers stress, lifts mood, and strengthens the immune system. A walk among trees can calm the heart, clear the mind, and restore a sense of balance.
Our meditative walks are designed to offer both shared group experiences and quiet individual moments of reflection. No prior experience or special expertise is required. Please bring a water bottle, a journal, and clothing appropriate for the weather. Walks will take place rain or shine.
WHEN: Walks will take place on the second Saturday of each month from 9:00am-10:30am (rain or shine). The first walk will be Saturday, February 7, 2026.
WHERE: Each session will begin at the Housley Road Trailhead (100 Housley Road, Annapolis, MD). This trail connects to the Bacon Ridge Natural Area. Limited parking is available on Housley Road (just past Stone Point Apartments) near the trail entrance. Additional parking is available in the mall area directly across the street from the trailhead if you are also shopping there.
